Microsoft Outlook & Samford E-Mail Setup:

 

 

1. Click on Start and select Control Panel. Double click on the Mail icon.

 

A Mail Setup box will appear. Click on Show Profiles.

 

 

2. Click on Add

 

3. Enter a name for Profile Name and click OK

 

4. Select Add a new e-mail account and click the Next button.

5. Select Microsoft Exchange Server and click the Next button:

6. Use SAMFORDMAIL.ad.samford.edu for the Exchange Server. Be sure the box next to Use Cached Exchange Mode is not selected. Enter a User Name and then select More Settings.

7. Click on the Connection Tab and put a check in the box next to Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP.

8. Use email.samford.edu for the Connection settings.Be sure Mutually authenticate the session is checked. The principal name for the proxy server is msstd: email.samford.edu Put checks in the boxes next to On fast networks and On slow networks. Under Proxy authentication settings, click the down arrow to select Basic Authentication. Click OK.

9. Click Finish to complete the setup.

10. At the login box, be sure that your address appears as UserID@ad.samford.edu (example: glsimms@ad.samford.edu)

 

Samford e-mail should now download to Outlook
